The Barista Wannabe : Red Velvet Hot Cocoa

I don’t know what is the big fuss about this Hot Cocoa. It is just Hot Cocoa, tinted red. And because of the red, let’s just give it a trendy and fabulous name, Red Velvet. Anything Red Velvet make people go nuts!

The Barista Wannabe : Vienna Coffee

Maybe I should just admit it. I don’t like black coffee. Nope, not even when it’s topped with whipped cream like this Vienna Coffee. I probably should have added more whipped cream. Anyway, Coffee with milk and sugar anytime!

But I must say, this looks beautiful. Because I made it! Haha!

The Barista Wannabe : Chai Tea Latte

Warm spices were infused into this Chai Tea Latte. Ginger slices, whole cloves, whole cardamons, cinnamon sticks. All thrown into a pot of milk and heat them up until it almost boil over. Reduced the flame, and bring it up back again. I probably should have used black tea leaves for a stronger flavor and strained them in a sock-like strainer (or a sock!). But I used 2 tea bags instead because sometimes, I’m lazy like that.

The Barista Wannabe : Kopicino

Not typically what a barista at a fancy coffee place would make. More like what a burly “mamak” (Indian man) would make at your friendly neighborhood coffee shop all around Singapore.

Kopicino is coffee suspended in milk. Condensed milk in hot water and then “pull” or pour from one pitcher to another until frothy. Then slowly, I mean sloooooowwwly, pour in the brewed coffee. That makes coffee float in the frothy milk. So beautiful!

The Barista Wannabe : Caramel FrappĂ©

…and with a homemade caramel sauce, no less! I had some leftover from making a banana cream pie a few weeks ago. Why not use it up eh? It got really loud when blending ice cubes in the blender. But who cares when what I got after all that ruckus was a cold, delicious and sweet coffee drink.
Goodbye Big Green Coffee Company! I now make my own frappes!

The Barista Wannabe : Soy Latte

I’ve always loved sweetened soy milk, either hot or cold. I must have drank gallons of it during my 2nd pregnancy. Blame it on cravings. Hah! As a result, my daughter, now 6, has a fair and really smooth complexion. So the old wives’ tale is true. Drinking soy milk can result in a lovely baby. Coincidence? Probably…

Anyway I’ve never thought of drinking coffee with soy milk. After trying it, my verdict is : Nahh… I rather have cow juice with my coffee.
