Big Bang!

12 Nov

“Math, science, history. Unravelling the mysteries.
It all started with a big bang.”

-Barenaked Ladies

My son Razin, 11, was so intrigued by the band Barenaked Ladies. “Why are they called the Barenaked Ladies? They are not naked!” Well, sweetie. They are not even ladies!
I think they are brilliant! Catchy tunes, clever and witty lyrics. I once tried to sing their song One Week. My tongue got twisted in knots! Don’t try this at home!

“Spaghetti With Little Hot Dogs”

This is my little tribute to the TV sitcom The Big Bang Theory. What a brilliant show! We see the world through the eyes of geeks, and in a sort of parallel universe where geeks are normal and normal people are weirdos. One of the characters, Dr Sheldon Cooper B.S., M.S., M.A., Ph.D., Sc.D. (yes, those are his qualifications), played by Jim Parsons, said that his mom used to cook this “spaghetti with little hot dogs”.
So I thought today, I would cook this for my kids.

The dish is really as simple as it sounds. A simple tomato sauce with onions and garlic and some oregano. I cut up some chicken sausages and added to the sauce. I also added some brown mushrooms to make this dish a bit more substantial.
Of course, we sprinkled Parmesan on top when eating. Yum!
