“I found you here, so please stay for a while”
Was that me, only a few years ago on bus rides to and from work, frantically trying to master the guitar solo for Avenged Sevenfold‘s Seize The Day on Guitarway To Heaven on Sony PSP? The answer is, Yes.
And what has that got to do with the rest of the post? Nothing. I suddenly remembered that game and missed it.
I always put the shop’s name if the food I feature in my posts are bought. But for the life of me, I can’t remember the name of this one. The whole place, Rivervale Plaza, is undergoing some major renovations but the shops are still in business. I think this bakery had torn down its sign and will be putting up a new one to complement the building when it is fully refurbished.
These local Waffles are truly a delight. They are not those waffles which you eat on a plate and topped with maple syrup or ice cream. These ones have fillings. They are folded in half, wrapped up and can be eaten on the go.
The waffle batter is tinted green. That is because the juice of pandan (screwpine) leaves are added. Or it might be pandan flavourings or pastes. Whatever it is, it made the waffles so aromatic when cooked in the waffle iron. And the whole place smells wonderful too. Just follow your nose to the unmistakable aroma that is the pandan waffles. When you find the bakery that makes this, you will be satisfactorily rewarded.
