That’s right. There is no name for this stew-like dish. Who cares? Ok if you REALLY need to have a name for it, lets just call it Mickey. Yeah, Mickey the stew. Not related to the famous mouse.
It is always warm and comforting when I have it, because it is home food.
You can say that Mickey is a combination of a Texas chilli and keema (a curry dish). I know that sounds weird. But trust me, it’s good. Ground beef, potatoes cut into little cubes and tomatoes cooked in onions, garlic, ginger and curry powder. I think a few cardamoms are thrown in too. Simmer until the beef are cooked and potatoes are tender. A little bit of tomato ketchup and chilli sauce are added to finish it off.
It is best served with warm, crusty bread or a baguette. But sometimes I like it with rice as well. Go Mickey!
